Irris Makler is a foreign correspondent and author based in Jerusalem. For the past four years she has been recording the stories of Holocaust survivors and photographing them cooking with their grandchildren. She enlisted five women to test the recipes in their test kitchens, and chronicled the results in a blog. She embarked on this project when she discovered that no one had written down the recipe for her grandmother?s honey cake.
