When her family moves away from their inclusive neighborhood to a chilly new town, Livi Lou suspects that she'll never belong. Now the only Black child in the whole school, she faces teasing and cold indifference. When everything seems about to overwhelm her, Livi Lou is reminded of all the brave people of the civil rights movement who came before her, and she discovers that she has had the strength she needed all along.
