Shot in real time and left unedited, Dolven's works present windows into often intimate and touching scenes that slowly reveal secrets and compel the viewer. "it could happen to you" features a woman lying on a bed next to a man who is seemingly close to death. This film work provides a counterpoint to the painterly tableaux of her earlier video works, whilst adding a sense of a "family ensemble" reflecting significant moments and stages of life.
