Description - Batman by Ralph Cosentino

Batman is an iconic hero of the comic book superworld. He is an ordinary man by day and an all conquering saviour by night. His persona is at once menacing and mysterious, but his character is all heart and redemption. In the original version of the story, Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a billionaire playboy, industrialist, and philanthropist. Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child, Wayne trains himself both physically and intellectually and dons a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in the fictional American Gotham City. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime. The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger and first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. Batman became very popular soon after his introduction and gained his own comic book title, Batman , in 1940. This highly illustrative, graphic art rendition of the Batman story introduces a new, younger audience to his life story.
The art is stereotypically one dimensional and highly indicative of the time from which the character was created. It is true comic-book style, but with text that is simple and accessible.
