After six hundred years of fighting the demons and their paralyzing fears, Shirath's demonbanes have finally discovered the origins of the beasts and uncovered their true purpose. Now they must find the masters that control them if they are to have any hope of stopping their relentless attacks.

One group of banes will search the forests stretching beyond the city only to find themselves facing a terrible threat. Two other banes, Garet and Salick, will brave the deep snows of the far north to seek out a mystical creature that could help them defeat the demons.

While the banes search, Shirath's king and the banehall struggle against enemies both inside and outside the city walls. Can the remaining banes protect the city until the others return?
