Part Two analyzes the economics of security in the Mediterranean region, where many new threats have arisen. In Part Three attention is turned to the sub-Saharan countries, namely southern Africa, including South Africa. This volume aims to demonstrate how concepts from economics and other social science disciplines can be applied to important issues of defence, conflict and peace at the regional level.
