The Station, called the California Forest and.range Experiment Station until 1959, was established in 1926. Before that time forest fire studies were conducted by the Forest Service's California Region Office of Research, San Francisco. Reports published before the establishment of the Experiment Station are included here to make this list a more useful compilation of research activities.
