Jack Davis brings his playwriting to further maturity with this spirited story of the Millimurra family's stand against government 'protection' in 1930s Australia.

No Sugar received international acclaim when it represented Australia at the World Theatre Festival in Canada in 1986; and was the co-winner that year of the Australian Writers Guild award for best stage play. Jack Davis himself is the recipient of many awards for his writing and for services to the Aboriginal People of Western Australia. In 1985 he was named citizen of the year.
