He is a visual artist, writer, and educator practising on Kaurna Country (Tarndanya/Adelaide Plains). His objects, drawings, installations, texts, and videos variously celebrate play, process, and the very act of making, exploding familiar pop culture properties - from Star Wars to Looney Tunes cartoons - and reassembling them in strange new configurations. His allusive works are slyly humorous contemplations on the nature of fandom. Since 2001, Roy Ananda has exhibited prolifically around Australia. He is Head of Drawing at the Adelaide Central School of Art.
