Little Touch and Hear books combine both sound and texture. 

The books have five sound buttons and the cover and each spread has a textured panel ranging from leathery vinyl, fluffy fur, smooth satin and silky cloth. 

Children are encouraged to feel the textures while also playing the sounds at the appropriate prompts. 

Elmo and Murray Monster introduce four texture words to the reader: 

Furry, Bumpy, Rough, and Soft! One of the four words and an additional object will be touchable on each spread. 

The reader is invited to touch and feel the words and other objects in order to better connect the texture word with its definition.
