This third installment in the "Meritocracy Quartet" takes us to Los Angeles in the 1980s, where Louie has built himself a successful career as a writer and producer. His own rise to fame is offset by the slow decline into obscurity of his father, a formerly famed and powerful producer and writer who left Louie and his mother when Louie was very young.
