Rhona Rauszer has had a long and varied life, always being drawn back to her ancestral homeland, Skye. Despite being registered blind in 1986 and a lack of formal education her Polish husband Kazimir always encouraged her creativity; after his death Rhona settled in Skye and began to make her living by writing and painting. The stories collected here make up Rhona's biography, an oral narrative composed and recorded by her over a period of twelve years (1992–2004).
